The corridor

A bridge of trust between two markets that rarely speak to each other directly.

Importing from Asia without local representation exposes your business to avoidable risks: unverified suppliers, unsecured payments, goods that don't match the specification, and hidden shipping costs. Uhuru Sourcing removes those risks with an on-the-ground presence, auditable processes and single contractual accountability, from supplier to delivery at your warehouse.

At Uhuru Sourcing, we turn the complexity of international sourcing into a simple, secure process. We find the right suppliers, negotiate, inspect, coordinate logistics and handle customs clearance — with teams on the ground at both origin and destination.

01
Professional specification

Before any search begins, we formalise the technical specification, volumes, deadlines and target budget with you — the document that protects both parties throughout the process.

02
Verification at origin

Our team in Shenzhen audits manufacturers, validates samples and follows production in person, with photographic and documentary reports at every stage.

03
Full delivery

From loading at the supplier's warehouse to customs clearance in Mozambique, the responsibility is always the same: ours.

Sectors

Where we already source, negotiate and ship.

Experience built up across dozens of industries. If your sector isn't on the list, let's treat it as the first case of a new specialisation — our verification and quality-control method applies to any product.

Sectors served to date, reviewed as client requirements evolve.

How we work

Four steps, from request to delivery.

The same route for a sample order or a full container. Only the scale changes.

01

Structured technical briefing

You send the specification, estimated quantity, deadline and target budget. If the specification isn't complete yet, we develop it with you — at no extra cost at this stage.

02

Selection and verification at origin

We select certified manufacturers, compare proposals on comparable terms, request samples and audit facilities in Shenzhen and the main Asian manufacturing regions.

03

Negotiation and quality control

We close price, lead times and payment terms. Before shipment, our team inspects the goods against the agreed specification, with a documented report.

04

Logistics, customs clearance and delivery

We manage transport, import documentation and customs clearance through to delivery at the agreed destination — with a status update at every critical milestone.

Global presence

Two bases, one process.

Close to the client in Mozambique, directly alongside suppliers in China. Neither end is handled by middlemen.

Why Uhuru

What changes when someone of yours is on the other side.

On-the-ground presence in China

Our own team in Shenzhen with local knowledge of the market, factories and negotiating practices. We visit, verify and report — in writing, with evidence.

Single point of accountability

From sourcing to customs clearance, you always deal with the same team and the same process reference. One contract, one point of contact, zero third-party coordination.

Trilingual team

Native Portuguese, English and Mandarin. Technical specifications don't get lost in translation — nor do negotiations, which we run in the supplier's own language.

Visas and travel, built in

A complementary service that's practically unheard of in the Mozambican market: when you decide to see the factory with your own eyes, we handle the visa, the itinerary and support along the way.

Contractual transparency

Product, freight, fees and our own fee shown as separate line items, in writing, before any payment is made. No hidden amounts, no surprises on the final invoice.

Deadlines committed in writing

Dates committed to contractually, with a status update at every critical stage. A delay becomes our problem to solve — not yours.

Frequently asked

What our clients ask in the first meeting.

We've gathered the questions our clients ask in the first meeting. If yours isn't on the list, get in touch — we answer with the same directness we bring to our proposals.

Is there a minimum order value?

On our side, there's no minimum order value. The minimum is set by the manufacturer and varies by product. When a factory's minimum doesn't suit your volume, we explore credible alternatives or consolidate your order with other cargo in the same shipment.

How long does it take, from request to delivery?

It depends on production and on the route. By sea, transit between Asia and Mozambique usually takes 30 to 45 days, on top of manufacturing time and customs clearance. By air it is considerably faster and more expensive. The proposal gives you a firm date for your case.

How are costs presented?

Itemised: product price, freight, duties and taxes, and our fee on a separate line. We do not hide margin inside the price of the goods. Payment terms are set out in writing in the proposal, before any transfer.

Can I visit the factory before buying?

You can, and on large orders it is often the best decision. We handle the visa, the itinerary and support on the ground, and we build the trip around a trade fair whenever the calendar allows.

Do you work with first-time importers?

Yes. It is a good part of what we do. In those cases we start by closing the specification with you and explain every step before moving on, including the paperwork you will need on the Mozambican side.

Do you also handle customs clearance in Mozambique?

Yes. Import documentation support and customs clearance are part of the logistics service, so you do not have to coordinate several middlemen.
